ScotShare: A better way to get around for when you could really use a car.
Welcome to ScotShare at The College of Wooster — a carshare program for The College of Wooster's students, faculty, and staff.
Why Carshare?
Not everybody needs or wants to own a car, particularly at college. When you consider that most of us only drive our cars a few hours a week, that means we spend a lot of money for them to just sit there. Fortunately there's a better way: The College of Wooster's ScotShare carsharing program.
Carsharing is a great way to save money by only paying for a car when you actually need it. According to AAA, the average cost to own a car is over $10,000 a year when you factor in car payments, gas, parking, insurance, and maintenance. That's a lot!

Using a carshare car a handful of times a month for those necessary trips can save you thousands of dollars a year.

How Does It Work?
It really couldn't be easier to use The College of Wooster's carshare program. Here's how to get started.

Get verified to drive*

Review our Terms of Service as it has important eligibility info

Drivers under the age of 22 must have a clean driving record and two years of driving history to be eligible​

Schedule a ride in one of the cars using the app

Unlock your car using your phone

Unplug your car and start your trip
-
Return (you must return to the same location), plugin, and end your trip

Repeat as needed
$9/hr
It only costs $9/hr (incuding tax) to use ScotShare shared cars. That includes everything from electricity to insurance and up to 25 miles of driving per hour.
*Because insurance is provided, a motor vehicle record check is required to start using the ScotShare carshare service. There is a one-time $14.50 fee to run the MVR check but once approved, one hour of driving credits will be applied to your account.
